Thanks for reading, Derek! Airbnb tends to be my go-to option for lodging these days and probably accounts for 80-90% of our overnights. I'm fully on-board with municipalities restricting/banning airbnb from their jurisdictions as they see fit. I don't like how landlords are taking their properties out of the long-term rental pool in favor of going the airbnb route. These days, we actually tend toward staying at owner-occupied airbnbs, as opposed to owner-absent "whole house" rentals. I think that is more in keeping with the original "sharing" spirit and amateur nature of airbnb.

Finally got around to finishing this blog! Appreciate the detail and weighing out the pros/cons of the Airbnb. As a frequent traveler, do you prefer Airbnb, and how often do you say you Airbnb compared with more traditional lodging? What are your thoughts of "illegal" Airbnb's in dense cities like NYC? Thanks again for the quality piece.

You are a hero. I like how you broke up the experiences in those grey boxes. Very easy to read and entertaining content. I just stayed in an airbnb in Napa Valley, CA and it was a great experience, but I'll use these tips while booking in the future.
